PRINCIPLE AIMS
| It is our aim to create an atmosphere within which the individual can feel safe to express themselves, find adults they feel able to approach and those that will accept them unreservedly as individuals in their own right. As part of a wider strategy, active attempts are made to rescue the better aspects of the individual behaviour, to restart the natural process of growth and development, and equip them with the necessities to go on to be productive members of society. Our staff have the commitment, patience and understanding to work sensitively with the child/young person and other family members in supporting them through difficult decisions and helping them make appropriate choices throughout. Every child is unique and should be recognised as being of equal worth. Every child has physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. These should be developed, respecting the young person's race, culture and background. Young people in our care are treated as an individual through participation in planning and review procedures. This includes involvement of the child/young person if of significant age and understanding in the decision making process. Children/young people are consulted and their wishes and feelings ascertained in matters concerning them. |

| Primarily the establishment caters for the needs for children and young people from 11 to 17 years of age, offering ourselves as a resource that will provide MEDIUM TO LONG TERM PLACEMENTS An environment that facilitates positive progress by preparing the child for rehabilitation back to the family, successful integration into an alternative family placement or to equip the young adult with the necessary independent skills to succeed in the community.Thus enabling a positive future A facility for 24 hour, 52 week care. Consistent care through high levels of supervision. Security and stability in a structured environment with appropriate boundaries, within which the individual can develop confidence and self-esteem. Experience in understanding and managing challenging behaviours. High staff ratio - 2 to 1.Task Centred approach. Care plans designed to meet individual needs.Education on site/life skills.A framework of stability and personal development. A comprehnsive care plan which responds to social and emotional needs, at the same time offering the young person a voice.We offer a holistic approach to young people.We provide a service that facilitates children,enabling them to emerge from the trauma of past abuse, thus empowering the child to attain their full potential in every aspect of their development.
